What, you thought we were done with Easter? Nuh uh. Strap up and
strap in, we’re doing this for the long haul.
And I don’t just mean the next few weeks while all our paraments are
white and the lilies are still looking nice. Easter isn’t just a neat spring
holiday coming out of Lent. In many ways, it is year round. You
remember how I tell you that Lent is the 40 days from Ash Wednesday
through the Saturday before Easter? The reason we don’t include
Sundays in that is because every Sunday, every Lord’s Day on the
Christian Calendar… is a little Easter all of its own.
It’s good to remember because all of the pomp and circumstance of
Easter, the color, the candy, the music… it would be hard for us to
reproduce that every Sunday (not that Vicki doesn’t try) but every Sunday
needs to be a reminder of that most important lesson… that while yes,
Christ died for our sins, Christ also conquered death to bring us back in
harmony with God.
So people, I say again, and will remind you often…
Christ is risen. CHRIST IS RISEN INDEED! —–
